responsible

I am solely responsible for
all that I think do or say
blaming others brings harm my way
karma unfolds from my behaviour
vulnerable honesty I need to savour
more gentle kindness

being responsible really does empower

Dear Readers I’m wondering if you’d mind sharing the ‘type’ of post
you most enjoy reading here?
Frankly I am losing motivation to post …

  1. Ultimately, we are responsible for what thoughts and actions we pursue. I appreciate your poetry on any theme, and your photography has me dreaming of your native land. There is an element of how much you love and care about the world around us. Sometimes life’s journey needs an intermission, and this applies to writers as well.

  2. I always find your words straightforward, full of wisdom and motivating. These days I am usually late in visiting but I make sure to catch up with the writings of friends. You write about things that give you joy, sis. I know you have made up your mind to fade away gradually from WP and I can’t change your mind but I do appreciate your being here. 🙂❤️

  3. Hi Kate,
I’m so grateful I met you through our respective blogs. I think the blogging community is truly one of the blessings of what we do and that’s what I love the most, the interacting. But I know exactly what you mean about motivation. I’m not posting nearly as much as I used to when I started and it’s not because I don’t enjoy it but simply because I’m just busy living and appreciating life and the every day things. I’ve always loved your poems, your life musings and I loved when you wrote about your WA trip. But truly, blog when you feel like it my friend. And when you feel inspired. That’s what I do. Your readers will always be here. Big hugs from me. xxx

  4. I love how you write beautiful poetry out of the seemingly unpoetic themes. And i am also a fan of your travels and photography. You made me see nature at its best. I’ve subscribe to your YT channel and i finally got to see it now.

  5. Dear Kate – I enjoy your posts, any of them as they come from your knowing and exactly from how you want to express in the moment. I love your photographs – they are peaceful and so alive too. Hope you find your thread of expression in joyful ways and pace. Please share with me how to find you on Youtube and I will join you there too.

  6. Gorgeous photo and very engaging video, Kate. I always enjoy your varied posts. Your photography is great! I like the wisdom in your poems.

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling a little burned out. If you are enjoying YouTube, why not continue posting some of that content here as well. I almost never like what I write because I should or on command. Live a joyful life and write when you feel inspired to do so would be my suggestion. I find myself overwhelmed at times, and my blog is relatively small!

  7. I like the short poems accompanied by photos the best, but honestly, I enjoy all your posts. I think sometimes it is hard to continue blogging (I’ve felt that way more than once), and it’s okay to take a break when that happens. I do hope you’ll come back to blogging, though! Your writing often speaks to my heart.

  9. I agree with you about responsibility, Kate.
I also think you need to share what you think is important to share. I enjoy your poetry, your photos and your motivational posts. I don’t always have time to read or comment on them all, but you have many wonderful followers. I am just one. I think we all struggle with motivation from time to time and wonder if it’s worth the effort. If you enjoy it for you, it’s worth it. If you don’t it’s not.

You have all the necessary tools.

  10. I always enjoy your poems, for sure! And your photos and vids are a joy to look at! You always give me much to ponder, to learn from, and to find joy and peace in! 🙂

Blogging should be about a person’s own pace, and whatever they have time for and whatever they want to share.

I’ve been blogging for so long that the past 3 years I’ve gone pretty quiet. Privatized a lot of my earliest posts (so only I can see and read them), and I don’t post with the fervor I used to…there a couple of reasons for that. But I went from posting daily to twice a week to once a week to twice a month to once a month and now it’s not even that often.

    (((HUGS))) ❤️🫶❤️

Yes, there are so many other things to enjoy, too! 🙂
BTW, that vid/song was fun to listen to! 😀 YMCA! 🙂 Wonderful solider band! ❤️

    • I hear you oh wise one, I have, and will be, cutting back more. AM totally enjoying my sewing and trying to take videos .. certainly need a lot more skills in those areas. So just refocusing my energy with a bit of WP on the side 🙂

      HUGS and much love

  11. I’m not much motivated anymore either. Like you mentioned the niches blogging filled have been somewhat covered by other things. That, and real life is busy for me.

I like all kinds of posts; mostly I just don’t have time to read long ones. 🙂

  12. I love the posts about your travels and also your introspective poetry. I will miss these terribly if you fade away from WP!!! But that is what I feel, which shouldn’t really have any bearing on you doing what feels right to you!

  13. I have always taken breaks from blogging. Take one if you need it. Then I eventually get the urge to post again, and I start up. I enjoy whatever you post, but you need to take pleasure in it. (K)

  14. I understand Kate … I often think of winding up my blog site, and then concentrate on writing poetry books

I’m trying to give myself more time away from blogging … it’s a gradual process

  15. Oh Kate I am sorry to read your last part about losing motivation to post. I think if we are long time bloggers, this happens…like a very low tide an ebb in our creativity. Your photos, stories and poems are all enjoyable to read for me. Just take a deep breath and I promise the urge to create will return. I think all of us have our cycles and what you posted above, your thoughts on taking responsibility are so true..and if we do it. we wind up feeling it WAS the right thing to do..I believe it builds real character too:)
