Nature’s wonder opens my heart
our current global predicament
moves me deeply in another way
life seems a balance of both
some moments of sheer joy
and others of grim grave grief
I choose which to let seep
focus determines my attitude
a kindly smile or fearful n rude
the misery a foil for my sun
I need each in the long run
stern and stunned or joyful fun
I can fill my heart with gratitude
or languish with a fearful attitude
to which I give voice is always my choice!
Hi Kate. I had some old blogs saved in my inbox, I just read this one and it spoke to me, resonated with me, xoxo

Our attitudes are definitely a choice. We are fortunate where we are to be surrounded by positives.

It is a delicate balance of seeing wrongs and trying to right them and, at the same time, appreciating all the good things in life. Lovely poem Kate, and beautiful photo.

These concluding lines say it all so we’ll! It is exactly that – can we choose joy to rise above the heaviness of the world that our hearts perceive?

no it can take years of persistent effort to transform those ingrained habits Robbie but the results are well worth it! Life is too short to cave into our unhealthy habits.

A wonderful poem, Kate. It is all in our hands how we take our lives either be sad or happy and being happy and joyful is what life is all about. A balance for sure.

Fear paralyses us and impairs our ability to make the right choices. Yet we have to make choices to maintain balance in life.

Nature Herself abhors extremes. She balances it out. We can stay as long as we choose to keep ourselves alive.

Fear is a powerful emotion Kate, and those upsetting thoughts cloud a lot people’s minds to think clearly, and they are not seeing the wonders of world right in front of their teary eyes, and they are failing the warmth of mother earth’s sand under their feet …
