risk taking is crucial to living
most choose to abide by the norm
but for those who dare to not conform
the rewards can be bountiful
take a risk to express myself
to love again
to be myself
for being true to myself
and my values boosts my health
is the greatest risk of all
no wishy washy exterior
which seems so inferior
be bold and sharp
yet kind of heart
rejoice in my race
my belief, my face
for we are unique but one
acceptance of self can stun
for I am more than enough
made from exceptional stuff
severe that victim mode
let my victor persona explode
daring to ignite
my risk taking insight
resilience abides within
negating it would be a sin
aroused 
your opening line “risk taking is crucial to living most choose to abide by the norm” speaks to me the most as i am a risk taker myself. But lately, i learned to do calculated risks.

This is an interesting poem, Kate. Sometimes we think it can be a risk to step outside our comfort zone. But sometimes it’s just as risky (or scary) to stay true to ourselves.

I totally admire your decision to not conform to society’s norms. Through books and other people’s experiences, I am finding nonconformity a very costly thing to do, so I admire anyone with an ounce of individuality left in them.
