aviators attitude #narrative voice

sitting solidly, wary
alert on my perch

doing my PhD
on two legged animals

observed some are kind
to my feathered kin

setting out food
building nesting boxes

 while others are heartless
tossing their waste about

so it becomes a trap
for all creatures

traps us
poisons us

then they continue to do it
without thought or care

I sit here solid and stare
reading their ‘type’

 aware of who has insight
and who to aim my waste at

immature foolish idiots
no idea we think and talk

we pray you’ll learn soon
as we become more rare!

Osprey student of human behaviour

why wonder what they are thinking, a sensitive poet can read minds …

  1. Poignantly insightful Kate .. and I love how you took the birds ‘point of view’
Reminds of a poem I wrote a couple of years ago …. yep, it’s in my book …

    “People Ain’t No Good”

    We don’t need human’s
Look at us, standing tall and proud
Why do you pollute our sky?
Why do you stain our land?

    Hiding under sacred hoods
    People ain’t no good

    We don’t need human’s
Look at us. walk and fly
Why do you catch and cage us?
Why do you shot us and make our babies cry?

    Hiding under sacred hoods
    People ain’t no good

    We don’t need human’s
Look at us, swim and dive
    We don’t need human’s
Look at us, eye to eye, and don’t lie
Why do you poison our earth’s waters?
    Why are you committing suicide?

    Hiding under sacred hoods
    People ain’t no good
