your wondrous beauty seduces me daily
your artful skill to pull me up when I inflate
you shower kind love not knowing hate
you endow without discrimination
constantly healing, enhancing my life
whether striding out or on a seat
you never miss a single beat
you can grandstand or subtly retreat
in and of yourself you are complete
hope most enjoy every miniscule treat
the Blue Mountains, just west of Sydney … where I’ve hiked heaps
you bless me so I can only rejoice
that you offer variety and abundant choice
you listen wisely but never voice
judgement nor your opinions hoist
embraced by your eternal love
as I hike, traversing on my feet
outdoor activities make me replete
your power is awesomely neat
you won’t be bullied, an amazing feat
anywhere in our world we could meet
you are my healer and guide
please always abide …
d’Verse, verse epistle, Sanaa
Incredible image & verse, Kate! As I was reading it, I could hear it being rapped – by a soft voice – at an open mic night. It’s so sweet and strong. Great job! 🌞

Kate, you have a great talent for poetry. All your pieces flow like music, or gentle river.
This is no less. Such beautiful scene you paint.
Love all ghee verses.
But this gets me the most
“..you bless me so I can only rejoice
that you offer variety and abundant choice
you listen wisely but never voice
judgement nor your opinions hoist
embraced by your eternal love…”

An epistle I can whistle
I’m just talking to the street
I can hum it, I can strum it
I’m just walking to the beat
A letter to the editor
Hello. I’m doing well
I’ve got these words inside of me
I’ve got a tale to tell
I’m praying what I’m saying
Might make some sort of sense
Did you hear me say it yesterday?
Was it past or present tense?
I’m so mad. A little sad
I’m so normal I could cry
A little song. A singalong
One more verse before I die
I’m grinning at the sunshine
I’m barking at the moon
My little rhyme is keeping time
Though I’m singing out of tune
Hear me mumble as I stumble
Watch me mix a metaphor
You can look. Please watch me cook
Because it’s you I’m cooking for

Kate, this is lovely. And –
This seems to be a running theme through much of your writing – in my mind, it is one of the primary attributes that I associate with you.

Your image of nature as spiritual healer is so perfect!
‘you can grandstand or subtly retreat
in and of yourself you are complete’
so true. A walk in nature can heal us of so many wounds and anxieties. And it is available anywhere in the world.

A perfect love letter! Was able to go for a walk today for the first time in ages! The trees are starting to bud and the squirrels were playing mating tag… a wonderful day that reminds me why I love nature.

Nature is always about us, willing and able to restore our joi de vivre if only we take time to notice.

I initially read Sanaa link you provided at the ending to give me a frame of reference. I did interpret all to your love of nature. I wonder also about a spiritual focus to your words. Multi-layered and beautiful words, Kate.

This brings tears to my eyes, SweetKate! What a beautiful tribute to Mother Nature! Always gives us so much, even when we ignore her or treat her unkindly. Shame on us Human-beans! Yes, she guides and heals and delights! We must dedicate our lives to, and model by our behavior (for future generations) treating her with respect, love, care, etc…as we DO want her to abide always. 🙂
(((HUGS))) 🙂

I will now stop choosing lines – as the entire poem is such an amazing appreciation of nature, making me think why would I look for anything in another human if ever, nature is so generous always. I absolutely love the photo too, it is very apt for your poem.

At first at reading the first verses of your poem, Kate, I thought it was dedicated to a lover but I realized the love was the Nature .
This makes me think of a great French poet, Alphonse de Lamartine who wrote :
” Nature is there , who waits for you and loves you”.
Love ❤
