life is flying by
tick tock
tick tock
zooming past in a blink
tick tock
tick tock
each and every moment counts
tick tock
tick tock
minute by minute
tick tock
tick tock
day by day
tick tock
tick tock
season by season
tick tock
tick tock
year by year
tick tock
tick tock
another birthday
tick tock
tick tock
a pandemic
tick tock
tick tock
a fruitful day
tick tock
tick tock
an unproductive day
tick tock
tick tock
but this one could be the last of my life …
tock ticked!
I always feel like time is flying by.

That’s a good point, Kate! It’s so easy to think, “life will be good again once this pandemic is over.” But this IS life, pandemic and all. And we’d best live it while we can.

The repetition of ‘Tick Tock’ increases the tension in the poem and creates a sense of urgency to live.

Yes, life flies by much too fast. We never know which breath will be our last.

Great reason to make the most of each moment…appreciate each moment.
Great and timely poem, SweetKate! And it reads just like a clock ticking….good flow. 🙂
We never know when our last moment will be…all the more reason to be ourselves and enjoy our lives. 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

We are usually blissfully unaware of our own mortality. But when we hear the clock ticking it startles us – sometimes into the realization that time is precious and we must make the most of every moment…

Tick, Tock and Tick Tock goes our lives when one day it surely becomes Tock, Ticked. Profound and words of Truth, Kate.
