Another ramble with Campbell today + 16 others … here are a few friends I met along the way! That wallaby has a rather large joey in her pouch. The joey remains in the pouch for nine months and continues to suckle until twelve to seventeen months of age.
My write ups of the walks have have been posted on FB and sadly attracted a larger crowd, those two ladies either side of Campbell are 83 yo twins! Their stories are amazing and they were super fit … we walked 1.5 hours up the beach and over the coffee rock then 1.5 hours back after our picnic lunch.
These two and the wallaby were in the picnic area where we left our cars! Saw many Oystercatchers [birds] along the beach, a few four wheel drives, and then three bicycles so it was a busy beautiful day at Broadwater National Park …
What a great post. So glad you got to walk. Love seeing the wallaby.

I like that – your FB posts attracted a larger crowd and you’re sad about it… Sounds like me in a way lol.
Looks like a nice walk.

Enjoyed your post. Felt refreshing and this is great that 80 yr old females are fit. Always inspired by the older females who take care of themselves. Thank you for sharing 🙂

exactly, it’s easy to be fit when young but a much greater achievement in the mid-eighties 🙂

So good you were able to get out! That beach walk was a pretty long one for 83 yr olds no matter how spry they are! You can lose track of distance when on a beach… Did that when visiting my sister – walked (talking) and ended up a lot farther away from home than we planned! hehe!

lol my mother and I used to do that … walked 28km one day! Around headlands and just on, had to find a phone to call dad and ask for a lift home 🙂

a wallaby is a smaller kangaroo, the probably stand just above waist height with a lovely fur coat!

Are they friendly or would they run away from you?

they are wild animals but she had a rather large joey [baby] in her pouch so she needed to graze … otherwise she may have hopped away 🙂
