I am
the wind in your hair
the salt on your lips
the shiver up your spine
no I am not
the divine
or too much wine
or anything sublime
I am
that fine silver thread
that unwinds in your head
uniting everything instead
I am
nature
and nurture
kindly concern
I thrive in your heart
deep within
evolving despite sin
some try to bury me
but kindness can liberate me
so simple to set me free
coz I am
innate
endless
unlimited
I am
a resource
resilience
compassion
you know me
but not immortality
until you unite unconditionally
Wow love it.❤️

Heart full of love and kindness in your lovely words dear Kate. I AM all this until we unite unconditionally and become ONE. Too good.

PPS…I thought you were writing about grace and then clicked on the link and saw the prompt was from someone named Grace.
I’ve reread your poem and I’m still thinking about grace…because grace and mercy bring about peace, kindness, civility, unity, harmony, respect, honor…etc. 🙂 And we need to have all these with other humans AND with nature. 🙂
More HUGS!!! 🙂

I really like what you did with this one. The pauses to explain throughout work really well. Nice ending.

It’s really good this. I am what I am. I will be what I will be. (That’s a quote not sure if they’re one or two quotes).

Beautiful poem, Kate! Reading it, I find it easy to be a little less cynical about human nature.
Take care. Cheryl
