I glided up the rainbow
smooth and easy like an escalator
then sat upon a cloud
to soak up the magnificent views
trees, fields, rivers,
people scurrying about
fascinating but not stressful
coz it all felt rather distant
then decided to see how many
clouds I could coast about on
leapt from one to the other
to get a different outlook
gently the sun set in a blazing glory
time to return for supper so I
slide down a moonbeam
to arrive at my front door
nobody had missed me
but what wonderful fun Iβd had
Love it. On a rainbow, meeting the clouds, moon beam slide ππ. Gorgeous imagery.

I’ve seen some beautiful clear nights/early mornings recently whilst walking with Coops. π
The sky…day or night…can be healing. π

and think it’s looking brighter as our pollution has decreased massively since lockdown … but guess we will be back to our old ways soon enough … how are you?

A glorious piece of escapism Kate, a magical carpet ride upon a rainbow..

We all need that from time to time.
To ride on a rainbow; to sit and coast on a cloud; to peer down at the wonders below us and the stories we could then tell. It has such a magical and soothing vibe or feel to the poem.

Once!
Just once I’ve seen an actual rainbow over the sky above in my town, which happened so long ago.
But love enjoying going with you on virtual tour of up above the world so high π

too sweet Hammad … maybe the city pollution stops the rainbows? Here in the country we get plenty …

City pollution plays a major factor but the very fact of yearly gaps between rainfall plays a major part.
Strong predictions of monsoon falls from next week made headlines here, so hopeful I’m π

ouch yes, impossible to have rainbows without rainfall … good luck!

A lovely poem, Kate. A few years back, I saw a double rainbow in Helen, Ga and it was on my birthday! I took a photo and will find a way to publish it.
