there is a door to life
but we must choose to open it
some prefer to wallow n worry
delay with drama
or just vegetate
with isolation experience
under our belt
we know just how we felt
got time to reflect
no need to be circumspect
we can keep chasing the dollar
or the ‘right’ image
or just step up and deliver
those aspects we prefer
less spending less waste
no need to do things in haste
priorities reviewed
others really do matter
time to curb idle chatter
less harm more harmony
Each moment is a portal… but there are doors that cannot be closed once they are opened.

Great poem! Each day we must open the door; hopefully, we open it with a positive mind. There are so many possibilities when we keep an open mind and believe that good things can happen.

True and profound poem that is so wanted at these times. We must all retrospect our lives and what we need to do from now on. Loved your poem, Kate.

Nice line: “time to curb idle chatter” If we curb idle chatter we may have more time for what matters.

And it’s a different door for each of us – or at least, it opens to a different path.

Isolation has brought peace and time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. I particulary like the last stanza
no need to do things in haste
priorities reviewed
others really do matter
time to curb idle chatter
less harm more harmony

We hope everyone has learned something positive during this time. And we hope everyone is willing to hang onto the glaring facts concerning what is really essential, who is essential, and what our priorities should be.
Excellent ponderful poem, Kate! 🙂 Thank helping us think! Thank you for inspiring us, encouraging us, helping us. 🙂

That’s so true, Kate, that it’s our choice to open doors, take chances, which can be scary but is so invigorating and liberating. During the lockdown, doors have been closed and we have time to think. I’m afraid that those who ‘prefer to wallow n worry / delay with drama / or just vegetate, will be doing that, nothing will have changed for them and it won’t change when lockdown is over. Yes please, more harmony!

Lockdown gave us time for introspection and now it’s upto us wether we choose to mend our ways or just vegetate. The theme of this poem is so deep and relatable! You’ve woven the prompt perfectly, Bravo! 🙂

A very timely poem, Kate, as parts of the world begin to lift their restrictions, I would hate to see our world return to the status quo!

We definitively need less harm and more harmony!! I’m almost afraid to look – but just like a train wreck I can’t stop from looking at what will come…

For some reason, I like to do these anecdotal responses. And quite often I’ll use them later in a poem… 😊💙🌏
