on that golden acre
of waving grass
I swung my purple sword
it flashed blue fire
against the dazzling blue
oh what a glorious hue!
so tender and true
as a princess I left
a trail of tears
so the purple queen
could find me
amidst the aurora
the lazy housewife
rounded up Jacobs cattle
on black beauty
for the czar
was a wizard
who’d put jack on ice
so these intriguing names
will gain some fame
in poems woven of fantasy
bringing colour to life
for those imbued in strife
igniting imaginations!
d’Verse, vegetable names, Sarah
Seeds of imagination now in blossom!! Beautiful!

You are always very clever with words but I am more happy to see the vine going up on the setting of wheel frames. Ray of hope, I would say.

Great use of the prompt words, Kate – you pulled a whole fantasy out of them. It was the final verse that got me, though – it felt like a personal gift to me in this time of lockdown and restraint. We can still travel in our imaginations. Lovely stuff.

sorry no … most of those terms were names of plants we were asked to write a poem from … I have had vivid dreams but none as colourful as this would imply!
