when things seem hopeless and helpless
when life feels full of gloom and doom
when climbing out of bed hurts my head
kindness is my remedy
kindness is my saviour
my best friend, my pick up pill
when fear and anxiety fill me
when doubt and demons be
only one thing can set me free
kindness is my remedy
kindness is my saviour
my best friend, my pick up pill
when bullying and bickering bludgeon
when change and caution are chaotic
when boredom gnaws me inside out
kindness is my remedy
kindness is my saviour
my best friend, my pick up pill
when harm and negativity haunt me
when I feel threatened and all at sea
when terror grips demanding I flee
kindness is my remedy
kindness is my saviour
my best friend, my pick up pill
when my cooking is not so delicious
when others seem malicious
and taunts escalate to vicious
kindness is my remedy
kindness is my saviour
my best friend, my pick up pill
even as I struggle to be truly kind
kindness to others is the ideal key
kindness to myself can set me free
inspired by Carolyn’s duct tape!
What is your remedy?
Beautiful piece and so true! And there’s just isn’t enough kindness in the world! Thank you for being one of those who add to life instead of taking away from it! 🙂

I look towards the sky and turn off my mind from the world I live in, which helps a bit.

Love this..Even if we disagree we can still be kind and respectful in our explaining why we think the way we do.

or in not explaining … some people just don’t want to hear another opinion and this is where arguments can get heated.

Ah the duct tape! Inspiration comes in the form of pliers and duct tape 😀
And true kindness is perhaps the greatest virtue that we have.

I was drawn in by the title… last year I had found a book for gifting;
(something like )100 things you can do with duct tape. 😀
Your piece reminds me that even when we aren’t feeling 100%, especially if we have to answer our phones… smile first. That smile will help to set the tone. I think I read somewhere that when you get up in the morning even before your leave your bed – smile to help set your day going in a good direction!

rejoice we are still breathing, smile and set a warm motivation for the day, better than any breakfast!

Love this! You nailed it! 😀
Kindness is like duct tape…it can help, fix, make life easier, better, solve problems…etc. 🙂
And we must use duct tape kindly. (not badly 😮 you know, murder-mystery-like 😮 )
Thank you for being kind, spreading kindness, encouraging all to be kind! 🙂
(((HUGS))) 🙂

Loved your verse. ❤️
Kindness is often mistaken as charity, which it certainly is not! Being kind should come automatically. I am.working on it.

I can almost hear the tune! Kindness can cure most of the ills of this world but some think it is just a placebo – a Pollyanna point of view. I disagree. Kindness can expand and fill the soul. Hoping you are so filled (and I can feel it spilling into other lives, my own included)!
