Added color to my grey winter day- though one of the little pepper plants I brought in, in the fall… and trimmed back actually had a little white flower on it. And my African Violet is blooming purple flowers too!
ha I just received one of my mothers African violets … my brother drove it many hours to get here and the trip must have been traumatic coz it shed every flower. Now it is thriving on my desk ledge and will hopefully blossom again once it’s adapted π
π I’ve transplanted mine over the years some of the leaves are are as big as the bowls of serving spoons (bigger than a soup spoon, but not as big as the ones cooking…). It flowers all year round. It likes the morning window it’s in. I’m sure once yours has adapted it will do fine π
Bright, Kate, but really, what are they compared to the browns and grays that surround northerners?
Glimpses of paradise is what they are, actually. Some of it tempts with visions of what will return eventually, but most create a vibrant mosaic that surely exists only in our slumber.
Oh, and those parrots! We do have birds which highlight a single color – orioles, goldfinches, blue jays and cardinals – yet to show off all at once? A fever-dream, I tell you!
β¦.and just the antidote January’s snows demand. Much obliged, Kate!
Wow! Such colors! I’m not familiar with all these flowers – they look other worldly! What kinds are the big photo at the top and the big one at the bottom??
Great picture. Thanks for sharing. We need a little colour here in the north, seeing as spring is a while away yet. Sitting at about -18 degrees Celsius this morning.
Thank you for sharing your colour and beauty! OhMyGosh, these flowers, birdies, and colours bring warmth and smiles on a cold brr-y night! π
I always love seeing the lorikeets!
