art by Beverly Dyer
whatever the craft
we need the right tools
our space to create
and of course our muse!
once these all align
we may sip on a wine
as we sketch or compose
whether art or prose
we use colour and words
to create chirpy birds
or a vase of bright flowers
these are our creative powers
some are truly gifted
others efforts sifted
yet we all do our best
to entertain our quest
dVerse, use Beverly’s art as inspiration, Mish
Lovely start to my day Kate and reminder to feed our creativity.

Beverly’s watercolor is so beautiful!
Your poem is so inspiring!
Yes, we do our best! We keep creating art! I will never be a Mary Cassatt or an Emily Dickinson or a Joni Mitchell…but I will keep trying! In the trying is great joy and good “therapy”. 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

I can visualize your eclectic art group gathering in someone’s garage for painting and wine! Well done. I like the way you wove painting and poetry into the same vein!

I like this tribute to our commonalities as artists and poets, “whatever the craft”. Space is definitely a key factor….and maybe a little chardonnay.

Very nice. I love that picture! I agree some people are just talented. Have you ever seen paintings by Akiane Kramarik? She inspires me whenever I see her work. https://akiane.com/product/everlasting/ .

You reminded me of an argument back in college on our creative writing class: “Are writers born, or made?”
Your poem just answered it…we can be both or we can be born with it, as you say gifted or we can be made, as you say “others efforts sifted”…but either way is perfect and again as you say “with the right tools”.
I love this Kate.
