Birds around here
are so full of cheer
one couldn’t be indifferent
they try to watch tellie
perched on the antenna
or in a feeding frenzy
others do tight rope acts
with electrifying results
even pretend to be a clam

so long as you don’t try to convince me that you grow feathers, I will wear that 😎

So true and such pretty and beautiful birds, Kate. Have you noticed one thing they will always flock together and are so content with each other.

lol in that feeding frenzy you might see a couple of crowd control birds … they are usually content with each other but they will fight over food ..

Ya that is sure and here in our country we have the crows who will come and sit on our window sill and make the most noises. But they are a great lot.

These flock of birds teaches us a lot about survival and living together with calmness.

Delightful photos. There is a gent in our neighborhood who sits on his front porch in good weather with his parrot. I’m guessing the bird doesn’t fly much though. Here’s a bird story you might enjoy: A Birdie Tail/tale A happy reunion. 🙂

ha ha several of my neighbours walk around the park pirate style … walking cane and pet cockateal on their shoulder … one flew away for about 30 hours then landed on his masters head, and that’s the longest absence 🙂

oh what a lovely story, just over a year is a long time for a pet to endure the unknown wild!

It’s wonderful to be surrounded by feathered friends.
That ibis does appear to be imitating a clam. 🙂

Breathtaking photos, Kate! Extraordinary plumage too (the birds, not you, although it’s possible, I suppose), far surpassing most of what we see here in the northeastern US.
Still it’s early summer in this part of thee world, meaning the feeders teem with parents showing hatchlings where food is located and how to “work” the feeders. Great conditions for birdwatching, even if our colors fade in comparison to yours. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of what the other side of the world enjoys!

really appreciate your thoughtful comments … do you post other than recipes?

Thanks, Kate! No, just the cooking.
Half the fun comes with choosing and preparing dishes, the remainder, from discussing them with readers and learning what’s happening in their own parts of the globe.

then I apologise up front, cooking is not my thing … usually if anyone takes time to read and comment I return the favour but, sorry!

No need to apologize. If you enjoy perusing the pictures from time to time, perfect. Maybe the pictures eventually will inspire a dream or two.
Besides, you already have expressed your appreciation beautifully. I’m not a bank, offering something only because I expect to receive something in return. That’s fine for them, and it does serve a vital purpose, but other things motivate me.
Of course, half the time, God only knows what those things are….

Your kindness simultaneously thrills and calms, Kate. Thanks!
As for the other writing, the blog is the only thing that’s been “published.” Other works, apparently, are the frothing of a lunatic, wherein I accuse readers of inventing the speed bump.

would be well worth posting all the same … please?
