I am not sure if you need improvement, Kate, but I agree with your statement.

Reflection is good to see what you have achieved and what you still need to achieve

The world would move a long way to something better if most of us would shift focus from ourselves and our selfishness to the care and respect of others.
Well said once again Kate

Nice poem! I enjoyed it. I’m a. bit darker than you, but I’ve been working on becoming myself. For some reason, I ended up in doubles of reactions because I wasn’t allowed to be myself by myself and many other people.

It’s a Cape Water Lily π

ah thanks, not sure if you meant the lily or the location … do lilies rise out of the mud too?

Yes. It’s Nymphaea capensis. They drop seeds into the mud and then grow until they are mature enough to detach and become floating. They are a introduced species from Africa and out compete Aust water lillies and aquatic plants.

This brought tears to my eyes…your words are beautiful and so true! The lilies and the lotus (and other plants) that grow under tough conditions have always inspired me! Yes, we must push through the “mud and muck” and keep growing and thriving!
HUGS!!! π

Beautiful things grow from mud, but there are many that wallow in it and see ignore the responsibility to their actions. You’re not one Kate and while we can all grow you’re a beautiful person π

thanks Simon, those with awareness are doing the absolute best that they can … some will always wallow π¦

There is much good that can come from mud.
Mudslinging is quite different.
May you continue to draw strength from nature.
Your words are like the lilies you speak of, readers can draw beauty just from reading them.
