genuine respect

would cure my di ease

kind care for those I meet

will surely defeat

my selfishness

if a lily grows from mud

I can surely improve each day

Friday Fun – reflection

  1. There is much good that can come from mud.
    Mudslinging is quite different.
May you continue to draw strength from nature.
Your words are like the lilies you speak of, readers can draw beauty just from reading them.

  2. Beautiful things grow from mud, but there are many that wallow in it and see ignore the responsibility to their actions. You’re not one Kate and while we can all grow you’re a beautiful person πŸ™‚

  3. This brought tears to my eyes…your words are beautiful and so true! The lilies and the lotus (and other plants) that grow under tough conditions have always inspired me! Yes, we must push through the “mud and muck” and keep growing and thriving!
    HUGS!!! πŸ™‚

  4. Nice poem! I enjoyed it. I’m a. bit darker than you, but I’ve been working on becoming myself. For some reason, I ended up in doubles of reactions because I wasn’t allowed to be myself by myself and many other people.
