Forlorn?

The bird was forlorn as he searched for his flock
as so many of us search for connection
yet true contentment lies within

We search outside which brings frustration
for real satisfaction comes from our own attitude
sit silently and know genuine gratitude

Forlorn

  1. Some birds do like to hunt by themselves. But… yes inner peace can make it easier to be in a crowd. I think that could also be called having ‘confidence’? ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This is one of my favs…your poem and your photo!
    Yes, you are so right!
I marvel at how some people think everyone else is responsible for meeting their emotional needs, making them happy, etc., when we must do that for ourselves! It’s all about our innards! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Truth, for sure! Wonderful, Kate!
This photo and poem pairing gives me goosebumps (no bird pun intended). I am just in such awe of such a majestic bird AND the comparison to us as human-beans…we all need to belong and to feel like we have support and companionship….but we, also, must have contentment within ourselves and enjoy our own company.
Now I am thinking of birds of a feather flocking together… ๐Ÿ™‚
