There are two things we could all try to minimise
any harm to ourselves or others –
Meaning harsh thoughts or words, harmful deeds,
game playing or flirting with another’s partner!
And our carbon footprint –
Meaning more use of bicycles and public transport,
avoid excessive packaging, nominal use of utilities,
not wasting or stockpiling … you get the drift?
Balance everything else
like meals, sleep, clothing and travel.
If you are blessed with more then wisest to share
for those in real need asking is very rare.
Daily Prompt: Minimal – 22.3.17
So as expected I have hit a bump with local council who has no policy
and ignored my initial enquiry some months ago.
Know you all mean well but I am putting a complete black out over this please?
No questions on line or by email …
I will tell you once I’ve moved but no updates or questions please ..
Minimizing doesn’t come easily to most. But once one starts living mindfully, life indeed becomes beautiful. As always Kate…sound piece of advice.

thanks Punam I enjoy the minimalist lifestyle but being a nomad it was more or less forced on me … it’s very freeing 🙂

Kindness and respect to ourselves, others and our environment – doesn’t seem like a difficult directive but you’d be surprised how hard it is for people. There was an uproar about giving up plastic straws for goodness sake! Keep spreading the word though! Great post!

When private spaces are public …
I think we can respect the private spaces amid all the public.
I am always saving containers for at least one reuse for my DIL’s school. I save assorted bottle caps for counting, sorting by size and color. I’ve also got a box going for things to donate. And when it is full – then I deliver it. 🙂
Cheers and good balance to you, Jules

Absolutely agree. One of my ex girlfriends couldn’t stop herself from flirting and coming on to a few of my friends. One of my friends discreetly told me she was making him uncomfortable. We didn’t last long after that.

yes John that’s a tough one … fine if it was true but I have known mates to break up a relationship just because they could … trust your mates are more honest than that!

I think you nailed it with balance and to minimize. If all of us strived to do just a little of both, then ALL OF US would be in a much better off and in a much better place. Physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Yes. Seems so many people have wasted small fortunes chasing the ever elusive lottery pay-out.
In a recent Canadian TV sit-com, the lottery was refered to as, “the idiot tax”

lol what a witty and most appropriate title …
I was most interested reading a news article years ago that those who did win the big bucks were broke and back where they began twelve months later … horrid thought that they didn’t make good use of it but squandered it …

Likely. Or more likely poor financial planning and retirement skills. I think I read somewhere and it is a bit of an over-generalization, that those who win more often than not come from lower income brackets(buy the tickets as their way out of the low income life) and have never really learned over the years how to accumulate wealth and live within their means. They get this big pay-off and end up like a kid in a candy store. Thinking that the money will never end.
Apparently, it does end.

no that’s what that article here clearly demonstrated … they really had no concept of how to manage money = bad decisions and the millions evaporate 😦

Yup. Same old story. Now, I have to head out and get my lottery ticket. lol

Wise words, Kate!
I strive for balance (doesn’t always work, but I am trying)…In life-stuff, I like being on the center of the seesaw and not high up or low down. 🙂
Love that kissy photo! Sweet!

Namaste Calm Kate 🙂
Minimise is such a meaningful word: making small changes in the way we live our life cam be positively impacting for us, for others, and for our planet. As Oscar Wilde is reputed as saying. ‘everything in moderation, including moderation.’
Thoughtful, considered words as always. Thank you for sharing.
Namaste 🙂
