Great bird! One of my favorite creatures to watch and photograph. I hope to take part in some of your upcoming Fridays.

It does sound like I meant kookaburras, but then I have had another look at the sweet bird to see what I wrote. I wish they lived here in NJ.

I would love to hear it laugh We enjoy the hawks in our area, although I hate to see one take a mourning dove at the bird feeder, but it does happen on occasion.

Wow, such a cute one. I have never seen this before.
These days I see very standard types. I hope swans will be back soon for their winter stay and I can capture some new and some old ones.

I once saw a kookaburra in an observatory park. They are excellent talkers and imitators.

that may have been a Budgerigar or Lyre bird, kookaburras just laugh very loudly 🙂

A good friend of ours who lives up on the Murray River, outside of Corowa, actually feeds the Kooaburra’s by hand every day. It is so cool. She let me do it too.

a yes they can be tamed … and they love being fed, usually meat? As a vegetarian I wont go there 😉

My husband is in need of a hair cut and looks very weirdly similar to the above Kookaburra and I’ve just shown him the photo…we’ve had the best laugh ever…although he says it’s not funny!!!

lol like that one! These birds do laugh a lot so they would say “mission accomplished” if they knew that they had made you laugh 😉

Sitting proud, nice specimen. In another life your question would have elicited a number of comments about beach birds. 🙂
