Do you cut it close to the edge
or keep a conservative distance
Do you take risks or fence sit
Living on the edge is not for me
but risk taking, stretching it out
is what living is really all about
Just following the masses
not thinking for ourselves
seems safe boring and average!
Daring to think outside the square
is really living life if you dare
mix things up a bit, try to be different
Add some more diversity
to enjoy a life well lived
spicy colourful and exciting
Don’t die wondering full of regret
tick your bucket list off quick
don’t hesitate or it’ll be too late
my photo of the edge of our world, the Himalayas!
Probably a bit conservative and at other times a bit edgy. Do like the last verse though, “not wanting to die full of regret….” We don’t know what the next day will bring. Need to check off those bucket list goals as quickly as possible. Great poem to ponder about on a wet Sunday in Canada.

You are super creative in expressing, Kate. I love every sentence and as you know, we think alike.

We have to take risks or else we will stagnate! Well said Kate. 🙂

I don’t like fence sittin’…the tops of the fences are pokey in the butt! 😮 😀
And I don’t like masses…too crowded and not thinkin’ goin’ on. Often no open minds, open hands, or open hearts in the masses. 😦
Much rather be livin’ life and trying new things! 🙂
GREAT poem, Kate! 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

lol … feels like I’m preaching to the converted but maybe a sheeple will read it and a light bulb will go on 🙂

I find myself a bit of a split personality on this issue. There are times my soul screams for adventure and other times it longs for the solitude of my cave.
Lovely imagery.

I’ve had enough edges for several lifetimes. Though there are a few things I would like to do and places to visit. I will not create a bucket list. What will be, will be.

I am definitely in the process of living edgy again. It was a point in time I did exactly what I wanted without the fear of being judged and I certainly felt my best then. Thank you Kate for this blog.

Beautiful, and some heaping helpings of truth! Who wants to be normal, or average? Not you, -or- this lady!! Great work. 👍💖✨

I come close to the edge without ever going over.
Different is in, normal is out 🙂
