Aphid Foes

We are green and clean

considered obscene

We feast on your plants

with a wild happy dance

But the midget mites

catch us for their bites

as we run for our lives

hiding near the bee hives

Mites may look quite cute

but they treat us like loot

They feast on us for a fact

leaving your plants intact!

  1. Her name is Aphrodite
And she rides a crimson shell
You know you cannot leave her
For you touched the distant sands
    With tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured
    By the sirens sweetly singing

I stole this from Eric Clapton
I doubt that he will notice.
    He liked mermaids too.

  2. Aphids… taking up too much prime restate on the milkweed.
(will my eggs haven’t hatched I found some 1,2,3 stage instar ‘cats’ that I’ve saved…
    Hoping they’ll become butterflies…)

I like the drawing and your verse.
Seems though there is always some bug that bugs us…

  3. Oh, all the pesty, pesky little bugs that live in the world! But I guess they are good for something! 😉
Now I’m thinking about fleas and flies and Mr. Ogden Nash. Ha! 😀
