Testing a metal one would assay
Got punched on the nose in an affray
Laid out some fruit in a fine array
Climbing down rope one will belay
Speak clearly so we can convey
Post the parcel now, don’t delay
Missed my flight with much dismay
always loved writing my English essay
Watched the children in their play
Pass the baton on in a relay
Circling your partner in a sashay
Nice B and B for you to stay
Broad large and flat is a sting ray
Could add some more but what to say?
DP: Assay
Nice rhyming poem. Fun take.

Wonder-filled in the soft grass we lay
as Night steals the sky from Day
The stars glitter in their dazzling array,
perfect contentment, if forever we stay

I so enjoyed reading this! It is kind of like a song you could sing over and over again. All the lines carry their own weight…different parts and yet it all holds together in one piece.
