Do you ever wonder why our society permits violence at so many levels? Rape of earth, women and children … breed withentitlement, competition, violent sportsand constant porn which all leave deep scars on our psyche, distorting our expectations and pushing some beyond humane limits …
Our greed rioting out of control in this instant gratification society throw away goods clutter our planet like a vile disease but still we indulge, ignoring it all without heed! Compassion is what we need, sincere heart felt love for each other, acceptance of diversity!
All the warning signs are there so a united stand is needed to stop all wars and family violence; to only purchase what we need; to cease our personal violations and connect with our calm centre World peace starts within, please permit your kindness to arise?
How absolutely true. It never ceases to amaze me how the simplest of maxims given to us via all world religions: Love thy neighbor as thyself.
It’s so simple, and yet it still eludes us. The peace and tranquility we all desire is within us. It always has been. And yet…
thank you so much for adding your voice to it Paul … I think it needs men to say it’s not okay before other men will hear … seems like they can’t hear women 😦
I have come to believe that the greatest source of discord is in fact greed. The powerful want more money and in their quest for more riches, they turn people against each other. It’s a distraction, but as people are blaming each other, they have less and less compassion for each other.
If people would only step back and realize what’s going on, it would be a start. Also, more people should learn to treat people the way they’d like to be treated and adopt the point of view that we’re all in this together. I believe people should help each other because it makes life more pleasant.
I was thinking about all of this recently and it made me deeply sad. 😦
You are so right about peace and compassion starting within each person…then and only then will positive change happen.
Thinking now about the need for mercy, sympathy, empathy, respect…people treating people like they want to be treated.
Excellent post, Kate! I wish each person in the whole world could read your words.
