Everyone knows that the woods are enchanted and the most magical things can be seen by the waters edge … of trees, grass, sky and water flowing swiftly by
Not so long ago folks took these things for granted, their timeless beauty made them seem abundant but ‘progress’ took over and they were sacrificed
Now the few meagre patches offered fantasy escapes for just a few moments before the next tour bus arrives …
Why do we allow our natural enchantments to be plundered,
it’s a such a huge loss to our children and our earth!

We actually have some programs in place to protect some of the creeks and rivers.
Watershed programs. But I agree that not enough are protected.

they claim that patch is the one remaining percent but frankly there was no old growth there … everything was reasonably new 😦

I agree with your thoughts. It is the saddest thing. Is it really progress when we decimate our land? I feel we need to redefine what growth means for the world.

Thanks Kate (I am assuming that is your name?) for adding to the tale weaver this week. You are right about the lack of understanding in preserving our world for future generations.
To link your story, hit on the Mister linky button at the end of the prompt, cut and paste your URL, https://arousedblog.wordpress.com/2018/02/01/enchanted/ into the space where it says URL, add your name on the top line and then press enter and before you know it your link will be there.

So true! There is so much real natural enchantment to be found. And to be good stewards of.
Oh, I could sit in that setting and soak in the peace and stillness for days and days.
HUGS!!! 🙂

Great words my friend. Nature heals the mind, body and soul. Without these places ‘where magical things happen’ we would truly be lost.
