It’s a ginger flower, later it will open up into a more conventional type flower. I totally love the perfect symmetry and the orchid/butterfly type flowers out of these. Got to photograph them at exactly the right moment!

found it in a garden where I was house-sitting, the owners had no idea it was there! There are many different ginger plants with very different flowers and they need the right temperature.
